As We Draw, Euglena, Hexis Split

New release from the label Throatruiner Records, these guys submit some good stuff to me. This time we have a three way split between As We Draw, Euglena, and Hexis. Descriptions straight from Throatruiner:

AS WE DRAW: Nearly one year after their first album "Lines Breaking Circles" which propel them into the rank of the biggest european outsiders of their style, the young princes of french post-metal are back to punish everybody once again with these two tracks, more muscular and tighter than never before. Five-stars songwriting, outrageous emotional power and contagious anxiety, this is caviar filled with cyanide. For fans of : Breach, Ken Mode, Old Man Gloom

AWD is:
Amaury - Drums/Backing Vocals/Artworks
Pierre - Bass/Backing Vocals/Lyrics
Quentin - Guitar/Vocals/lyrics

EUGLENA: They are coming from the red nation but could have come from the pink city; the hardcore from russians Euglena is as dissonant as buzzing, not so far from the know-how of toulousians I Pilot Daemon & Plebeian Grandstand. These three tracks are a good session of revigorating apnea, slower and dirtier continuation of their previous EP "An Anxious Surface". For fans of : Buried Inside, Plebeian Grandstand, Botch

Euglena is:
Noek - vocals & lyrics
Sanya - guitar
Ilyas - bass
Iga - drums

HEXIS: A Danish butchery - hardcore, black metal, sludge and blast beats thrown in the most epic and brutal way. If their first eponymous EP has already teared a strip off some people, "Crux" and "Nex" are following the going-over by stepping up their urgency and helped by a nauseous as-fuck sound. For fans of : Celeste, Crowpath, Blut Aus Nord

Hexis is:
Filip - Vocals
Christian - Guitar
Tobias - Bass
Simon - Drums

The Other Side Of The Sky

The Other Side Of The Sky was an Ambient Sludge Metal band from Daytona Beach formed in 2002. The band was formed by the members as a forum for their developing ideas and a desire to play music they wanted to hear. As a band they have played over 80 shows, toured the Eastern USA/Canada, self released their EP & first LP, and had one LP released by Retribute Records. Lots of droning riffs, wonderful haunting melodies, subtle effects-induced builds and harsh vocals that take a back seat to the music itself. The self titled EP is a bit different from the two albums as that the vocals are way more frequent. This is one of the bands from around here that I always tryed to never miss a show for, something you could definitely be proud of your music scene for. They were simply fantastic live, and made me so bummed when they went on "hiatus". Member Justin was also in the bands Years From Now, & Total Recall. this is easily one of my favorite posts I have done.

TOSOTS was:
Paul Weeks - guitar/vocals
Mike Brown - guitar
Cory Stegall - six-string bass
Tommy Guilmette - bass/microkorg
Justin Lauer - drums

X-Cops

X-Cops was a Joke Metal or "Cop Rock" side project composed of members from the band GWAR and their extended "family" of musicians that formed in 1995. Each member of X-Cops performed in police uniforms and had various fictional personas. They released the album You Have The Right To Remain Silent... on Metal Blade Records. The album included a cover of Deep Purple's "Highway Star" (with different lyrics, to reflect the theme of the album). In addition, they also released a 7" single called Beat You Down. The X-Cops opened for GWAR on stints of their 1995 tour, essentially opening for themselves as every member of GWAR either played an instrument or at the very least sang in the X-Cops. They played their last show in 1996.

Members:
Lt. Louie Scrapinetti (Michael Derks) - Guitar/Vocals
Cadet Billy Club (Mike Dunn) - Drums
Patrolman Cobb Knobbler (Dave Brockie) - Bass
Sgt. Al Depantsia (Pete Lee) - Guitar
Sheriff Tubb Tucker (Casey Orr) - Lead Vocals
Mountain Bike Officer Biff Buff (Brad Roberts) - Extra Vocals
Sgt. Zypygski aka Zipper Pig (Bob Gorman) - Extra Vocals
Detective Phillip McRevis (Dave Musel) - Samples

Railsplitter

Railsplitter was a southern heritage influenced Sludge Doom Metal band from Orlando Florida that formed in 2002 & broke up in 2006. I don't really known much about them, but they were an awesome band. I got into these dudes along time back when looking through the old Dead Tank Records website and they caught my eye(or ear) with the song Long Time Comin'. They only released two albums as a band and disappeared. Members went on or were in Dragbody, Rasquatch, Six Dead Horses and Snaggletooth.

for fans of Buzzoven, Eyehategod, Teeth of the Hydra, Noothgrush, & Art of Burning Water

railsplitter was:
Dan Oxford - drums
Mike Rosen - guitar
Phil The Bus - bass
Scott White - vocals

Finisher

Finisher is a 3 piece heavy metal/hardcore "stoner metal" band from Massachusetts that formed in 2006. I got this demo from member Bill who also used to play bass in Battle! & was a one time drummer for my old shitty semi joke band Riley Mason. He sent it to me so i could put a song on this Compilation CD I released that was passed out at shows out here. They put out a new LP this year on Witch Trial Records called Socially Dead which everyone should check out.

Finisher is:
Joe Streeter - Drums
Bill Kurtz - Bass/Vocals
Ryan Bowie - Guitar/Vocals
